March Slice of Live – #12

Image

Today is Day 12 of the March Slice of Life, a daily writing challenge held at “Two Writing Teachers“.

I have been collecting quotes for most of my life. I have a pile of journals, both large and small, filled with quotes and stories. I am always amazed at where they can be found – in doctors’ offices, on menus, but especially on blogs and facebook. I post many to pinterest, but I love the actual writing the quote down in my most recent journal.

I also love to create art around quotes and started a series recently for ABC Wednesday. This weekly challenge is enjoyable and combines my art with using quotes from my collection.

On a 4×4 1/2″ background, covered in  gelli paper, I find a used stamp and then a quote from someone famous. Here are a couple I have done:

  1. I love these quotes! I have just recently started collecting quotes and writing downs ones that I like, but I didn’t know what to do with them. This is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I have also collected quotes from childhood forward. I have all the journals I ever used in a box somewhere. They have provided direction, comfort, humor, encouragement, motivation and peace over the years and continue to do so.

  3. This is awesome! I love quotes and I have so many stamps (from a childhood stamp collection). I always consider myself to be a bit deficient in artistic skills, but this idea could add a little color to my journal. Thanks!
