Today is Day 13 of the March Slice of Life – the fun challenge of writing daily, hosted at “Two Writing Teachers”. It is also time for the weekly challenge “30 Words Thursday”.

After almost a foot of snow yesterday fell yesterday, I spent almost 2 hours snowblowing. It was a wee bit of a challenge. My legs and arms were actually weak by the time I was done. The snow plows finally went down out street today but that mean I will have to clear away snow from the end of the driveway as well as at the corner. I am procrastinating – my muscles are rebelling right now. But I do have to get it done before 5,  when my husband arrives home.

This poem basically wrote itself in response to the snow event!

                                       Where is Spring??

Spring – where are you?

Yesterday

A foot of snow

Minus 17 degrees

Two hours of snowblowing

Ten foot snow piles

Is this a cosmic joke?

Please spring –

Please come soon!

  1. What a lot of work, Beverley. Spring is coming, at least that’s what the news says-next Thursday! I think those of you with snow aren’t believing a word of it! PS-linking to you tomorrow!

  2. Cosmic joke, indeed! Today it looked like a snowglobe with gently drifting flakes settling on top of the already blanketed landscape. And just when I was seeing a glimpse of green! Here is hoping that it warms up soon! Thanks for joining in the 30 Words challenge! Enjoy the day! Erin
