The past few days have been so surreal. Two Canadian soldiers were murdered in cold-blood, just for being soldiers. One was in Quebec, the other in Ottawa, in front of the War Memorial.
I, like most Canadians, was horrified by these unbelievable attacks by fellow Canadians. Here are a few words in response and in tribute:
R.I. P
Nathan and Patrice
Two of Canada’s finest
Cowardly murdered
By twisted minds
With perverted “religion”
R.I.P.
Cpl. Nathan Cirillo
W.O. Patrice Vincent
Forever remembered
Forever cherished
Taken too early
HEROES
I am sorry for the loss of your soldiers and have their families in my prayers. My thanks go to all who serve to protect and defend the rights of others!
Thanks Todd. This poem just wrote itself beccause the events are still so raw.
It is so sad to see this in the news anywhere. The proliferation of gun violence is out of control. Just recently another school shooting in the US. Terrible tragedies all around. Thank you for sharing this special 30 Words. Enjoy the day. Erin
Thanks so much for stopping by Erin. It is a terrible time for violence. Let’s hope we as a society can do something.
