March SOL – Day 10

Today is Day 10 of the March Slice of Life – the daily writing challenge hosted at “Two Writing Teachers”. We are now a third of the way through the challenge.

I just finished reading “Ten Tiny Breaths” by K.A. Tucker, a new adult novel.
It was such a gut-wrenching look at PTSD and the after effects of drunk driving. Very powerful.

Kacey, the main character, repeats a refrain her mother used often, but it is not until the end of the novel that Kacey experiences its power.

Just a breath, Kacey. Ten tiny breaths. Seize them. Feel them. Love them.

The refrain struck me as one we could all adopt – one that helps to deal with difficult situations and pain
