True words – I don’t know where I would be without books and reading. This year I read over 365 books – from picture books to fiction and non-fiction. Although I signed up for challenges at the beginning of the year, I veered away from them early. With my husband’s health issues this year, I found reading was enough – I didn’t have the energy to ensure I was meeting challenge requirements.
This year though, I hope to get into the challenges I am signing up for. I want a more focused reading programme and the following challenges should see to that.
1.You Read How Many Books? Reading Challenge
For this challenge, I am aiming for Level 4 – reading 250 or more books.
Hosted at Book Dragon’s Lair. Check here for more info.
2. Modern Mrs. Darcy’s Reading Challenge
There are two challenges – Reading for Fun and Reading for Growth.
I plan to read through both lists – so 24 books in all.

3. Pop Sugar’s 2017 Ultimate Reading Challenge
Attention Book-Lovers: Take the 2017 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge

6. 2017 Diverse Reads Book Challenge
With Canada turning 250 this year, I feel it is very important to read works by and about native people. I hope to read a book a month , as well as read a book based on their themes for each month – so 24 books in all.

7. 2017 Picture Book Reading Challenge
My goal is to read 100 picture books once again (including non-fiction books as well). What is given is a list of 100 categories to read from.

8. Newbery Reading Challenge
My goal is the Konigsburg level – 75+ points
Hosted at Smiling Shelves. Check here.
9. When are You Reading? Challenge
There are 12 different time periods to read from for this challenge- should be interesting.

10. eBook Reading Challenge 2017
I enjoy eBooks and plan to read 50 books – the Gigabyte level.
This challenge is hosted by Book Dragon’s Lair – check here for more details.
Lots of reading indeed – but I know from 2016 that I can read a lot. I am hoping these challenges will guide me to some new authors and new genres. Iwant to be inspired in my writing and this will definitely help.
What challenges are you taking on this year??
