August Reading Round-Up

rdg roundup 001

Here we are – the last day of August already and time once again to share what I have been reading this past month. Hard to believe summer is almost at an end and September begins tomorrow.

This past month the total read was 40 (11 of these were picture books) , with the following breakdown:

Fantasy/scifi –15
Picture books – 11
Romance – 8
Women’s Fiction -3
Historical – 1
Crime/Mystery -1
YA – 1

(Ebooks – 7)
(Diverse books – 2)
(TBR books -0)

For the Reading Challenges I participate in, I’ve read these books:

Beyond the Bookends.
The theme for August was to read a book being made into a movie. I read:
Every Day by David Levithan

Monthly Key Word Challenge
The key word I chose this month was “beach” but “house” worked as well. I read:
Beach House Reunion by Mary Alice Monroe
The Cottages on Silver Beach by Rae Anne Thayne

Monthly Motif
The theme this month was “Award Winners”.
I read:
The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

Popsugar Ultimate Reading Challenge (Through Goodreads)
I had forgotten about this challenge and this week as I checked off the prompts for the 40 books to be read, I realized I had read almost half of the books for the challenge. Rather than list them all (!), I’ll just list the numbers I have read and then continue to share each month what I read.
1, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33, 35, 39, 40.

  1. You read so many books! Your challenges are diverse too and i’m happy they motivate you to keep up with your TBR. Great book month!

  2. Great list of books, I need to get onto my Modern Mrs Darcy reading challenge! I enjoyed the Rae Anne Thayne book and I want to read the Beach series by Mary Alice Monroe as i have enjoyed other books of hers.
