Today is Day 4 of the March Slice of Life – the daily writing challenge hosted at “Two Writing Teachers”.
I am using Encyclopedia of Me; My Life from A to Z, a guided journal created by Amy Krause Rosenthal.
E is Evening – How I spend mine
Before I retired five years ago, most of my evenings were spent with schoolwork – planning, marking, making things.
Now, those evenings are much more relaxed.
We have dinner at 6, followed by watching David Muir at 6:30 – my hubby is obsessed with him.
Then I read while I enjoy a cup of tea and have a treat. (When my children were growing up, that was always my special time to wind down after teaching and cooking. They knew to let me be for a half hour or so)
Clean-up follows, more reading and then probably watching some TV. Each day has a special show – from The Voice, to This is Us, to New Amsterdam.
I usually veg out on the computer for a bit, maybe do some art and most definitely read. I can usually finish a book a day.
Weekends may involve having company over and playing cards or we may watch a movie. Time is our own – we do as we please now.
