Day 19 – March Slice of Life

Today is Day 19 of the March Slice of Life – the daily writing challenge hosted at “Two Writing Teachers”.
I am using Encyclopedia of Me; My Life from A to Z, a guided journal created by Amy Krause Rosenthal.

S is for Sports
I would not say I was athletic. I have participated in a number of sports throughout my life, coached some while teaching and enjoyed watching several as well.
Growing up I played baseball (as a fielder), volleyball (I had a mean serve) and badminton. I have always loved swimming.
In my late teens I ran/walked a 30-mile marathon through downtown Toronto and raised over a thousand dollars. But I could barely walk for two days after!
During university I played squash and loved it.
As a teacher, I coached volleyball and badminton.
I enjoyed walking until my knees became too sore. Now, I struggle to fit in any exercise.
I do love to watch sports – Canadian football, horse racing, figure skating, the Olympic events, the hockey finals.

  1. I would have never thought of Sport as something to write about in my life. Reading your slice I think it might be an option to consider. Currently I am certainly more of a watcher than a doer. My movement comes form dancing, walking and yoga.
