2020 Reading Challenges

books-001

As I work to finish the reading challenges from 2019, I am already thinking ahead to the reading challenges for 2020, that are appearing all over now.

These are the challenges that I will definitely commit to:

PopSugar Reading Challenge (from Goodreads) – this is my favourite and I am already making lists for each prompt

52 Books in 52 Weeks – a close second!

Connect 5

Bookish Resolutions Challenge – a good way to set goals for my reading and writing

Monthly Motifs

Monthly Key Words

Beyond the Bookends

While I was Reading (12 prompts)

Diversify Your Reading (monthly genres)

Diversity Reading (monthly themes focusing on diversity)

Mount TBR (a good way to tackle my huge TBR piles and lists

These will definitely challenge me and ensure that I read widely, and in different genres. I want to enjoy my reading for sure, to have fun while I read, but I also want to push myself this year as well.

There are a number of other interesting challenges that I haven’t decided about”

Book a Week (through The Booklist Queen)

Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge

Book Bingo Reading Challenge

Social Justice Nonfiction Challenge

Creativity Reading Challenge

There are also challenges that I have participated in, but because I read these books anyway I decided I would not commit formally:

Newbery Reading Challenge

Picture Book Reading Challenge

Middle Grade Reading Challenge

Contemporary Reading Challenge

Memoir Reading Challenge

I will create a post for my core challenges and I hope to actually keep track of the books read for each challenge. I do keep a daily planning book and at the end of the month I posted a reading summary for each month last year. I will continue that.

For the next 2 weeks I will post a new challenge, which will act as the anchor for that challenge.

What reading challenges will you take part in, in 2020??

    • Check out GirlXOXO for a list of so many more challenges. The TBR challenge is a necessity – I plan to get as many books read and off my shelf as possible next year.

  1. Bev what a big lot of challenges, I can only admire all your tracking. Can you believe it but my reading took a dive when I retired because I took up quilting and that became maybe even more addictive as reading. And it came out of my reading a series of books by Emilie Richards where women quilted! I am not sure if I am going to run the Connect 5 challenge in 2020 as I only had myself, you and two others do it. It just didn’t get traction, possibly because it sounded a little complicated!
