Connect Five Friday – Wedding Planners

connect-5-3

It’s Friday once again and that means it’s time for Connect Five Friday, hosted at Book Date by Kathryn – the meme where we share five book/reading things that connect in some way.

Last week I read Visions in White by Nora Roberts and really enjoyed it. Four close friends run a wedding catering business from a beautiful old home. I have started the second book (of 4) – a Bed of Roses and am enjoying this as well.
A book I picked out from my library bag this week was Happily Ever After by Tif Marcelo, which is about wedding planners as well, this time of a family of planners.

It got me thinking about wedding planners and how many books were about them. I was surprised by the long list at Goodreads, and as well, the number I had actually read.

Here are 5 books I have read about wedding planners.

What I Read Last Week
I read books 6 books – I memoir, 2 fantasies and 3 paranormal. I still have several books I’ve started, but again I just couldn’t settle to any of them, at least to finish them. I turned again to my kindle and read some shorter paranormal/fantasy ebooks – as it seems we are living in a bizarro time now.

Books I read:

Connect 5 Friday

connect-5-3

It’s Friday once again and that means it’s time for Connect Five Friday, hosted at Book Date by Kathryn – the meme where we share five book/reading things that connect in some way.

This week I rediscovered Daddy-Long-Legs and I enjoyed it as much now as I did as a teenager. A lovely story of an orphan, written in 1912 by Jean Webster. As I investigated, I realized that there were so many books written before 1920 that are now considered classics – many though,  that I haven’t read.

Here are 5 of these classics:

anne of GG 8127

Anne of Green Gables by L.M.Montgomery. First published in 1908, it is the only one of the 5 that I have read. And loved! The notion of kindred friends still really resonates. I’ve watched all the movie and TV versions and read several of the Anne books as well.

2 by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’m surprised really that I haven’t read either, although I have just ordered an ebook  of The Secret Garden through the library and plan to read it asap.

secret garden2998    little princess3008

The Secret Garden(1910)                    A Little Princess (1905)

railway children164531

The Railway Children by E Nesbit was published in 1906.  Nesbit wrote many books – none of which I have read.

wind in the willows 5659

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, was published in 1908

Which of these classics have you read, loved??

Connect 5 Friday – Titles with Puns

connect-5-3

It’s Friday once again and that means it’s time for Connect Five Friday, hosted at Book Date by Kathryn – the meme where we share five book/reading things that connect in some way.

As the news seems to worsen each day, I thought I’d add a little bit of humour. I participate in a number of reading challenges and one of the categories was to read a book which a pun as its title. I find that many cozy mysteries really do love playing with words in their titles.

Here are 5 books with puns in their titles (I haven’t read them, but they are in my kidle TBR). These books as well are the first in a series by each author.

rest in 25133093

Rest in Pieces by Katie Graykiwski. I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read by the author. And this one, about Mustange Ridge, single mom, who decides she must investigate a murder, looks like a fun one to read.

Connect 5 Friday – Lorraine Heath

connect-5-3

It’s Friday once again and that means it’s time for Connect Five Friday, hosted at Book Date by Kathryn – the meme where we share five book/reading things that connect in some way.

Last month I read my first historical romance by Lorraine Heath and thoroughly enjoyed it. Before our library shut down for covid 19, I quickly grabbed a number of her books to read at leisure. I am reading a second of her books and enjoying that one as well. Swoon-worthy heroes, feisty heroines.

(Check here for a list of Heath’s extensive book list)
Here are the 5 books I borrowed:
