It’s time once again for Kathryn’s weekly meme “It’s Monday! What are You Reading?“, at Book Date, where we share what we’re reading and have read over the past week.
Once again – books continue to be a great stress releaser, although I move from book to book, they were a great comfort.! My hubby is once again in hospital – he spent 1 day (!) in rehab before his platelets dropped dangerously low. I did get to see him twice so at least that was a blessing.
What I Read Last Week
I read 5 books last week – 1 contemporary romance, 1 woman’s fiction, 1 non-fiction and 2 fantasies.
I started the Psy/Changeling series by Nalini Singh as I couldn’t get any more of the Guild Hunter series yet from the library. I am enjoying it just as much as the other.
Slave to Sensation Visions of Heat
Sea Swept by Nora Roberts. Another romance series, about brothers. Enjoying the series so far.
My Heart Weeps by Pamela S. Thibodeaux. Deals well with grieve and what we need to move forward.
This Messy Magnificent Life by Geneen Roth. Well worth the read.
What I’m Reading Now – still working on these!
Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
Two Summers by Aimee Friedman
On Writing by Stephen King
Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher
What’s Up Next
The Summer That Made Us by Robyn Carr
What You Wish For by Katherine Center
Sorry about your husband’s hospitalization.
I have heard Nora Roberts is a good read.
Thanks Michele. She is a good read for sure.
That was one of my first Nora Roberts book ever! The first of many!
She is a good storyteller that’s for sure.
Hope your Husband gets better soon. Books do tend to be a great comfort and escape. Hope you have a good week.
Thanks SJ. Hope he’s better soon as well.
Nalini Singh and Nora Roberts are both go-to authors for me. They are both great storytellers. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
Thanks kathy. Have a great week of reading yourself.
Look like you had a good reading week. I loke the title This Messy Magnificant Life.
Thanks Donna. It was an interesting book.
Thinking of you Bev and your hubby. Good that you got to see him a couple of times. So tough at the best of times and now in the worst of times made so much harder by this darn virus. I love the psy/changeling series and I found it just gets better. I LOVE so many of the characters. I got to do a reread, your are making me want it more. I love that whole Seaswept series by NR. One of my big faves. Take care
Thanks Kathryn. A scary time for sure – on so many levels. This new series is taking me away from it all, thankfully. On book 3 now
I’ve never read a Nora Roberts, but I’ve listened to some of Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series on audio and liked them. On Writing is one of the best writing books I’ve read. Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott is another, so This Messy Magnificent Life with the blurb by Anne Lamott sounds really good to me. Sorry to hear about your husband’s being in the hospital, and hope he is better and home again soon!
Thanks Laurie. I hope so too! I loved lamott’s book. Great advice.
Sending well wishes and prayers your husband’s way. Take care this week.
THANKS Greg. I appreciate that. Have a great reading week yourself.
I’m so sorry to hear your husband’s in the hospital. Sending good thoughts your way! Reading is the best comfort. ❤
Thanks Dedra. Reading is definitely a blessing right now.
