This week at Top Ten Tuesday, the topic is “Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To″. This weekly meme for book bloggers is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
At the start of every season, I make a list of books I plan/hope to read in the next few months. Too often, books get rolled onto the next season’s list, as I just didn’t get to read them.
Here are books from my own TBR shelves, that languished on my seasonal lists from 2020, for too long. Hopefully, I’ll read them this year!
A Man Called Ove by Frederik Backman
What You Wish For by Katherine Center
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult
A Better Man by Louise Penny
A Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
There There by Tommy Orange
Becoming by Michelle Obama
Into the Abyss by Carol Shaben
Embers by Richard Wagamese
Looks like a great list. Some are on my list too.
Thanks Lisa. Here’s to us completing our list!
A Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments, and Becoming were all excellent.
My post.
Thanks for the recommendations Lydia. Have a great reading week.
A Man Called Ove is fantastic! Although, I’m a little biased since I absolutely adore pretty much all of Backman’s work. :3 Hope you get to read these soon!
Here’s my TTT post.
Thanks so much Sammie. I plan to read it soon. Happy reading!
That Center book was good. I hope you get to it this year.
I love Center’s books, so need to read this soon. Happy reading!
I hope you enjoy these…
Thanks Greg. have a great reading week.
I need to read Becoming (as well as A Promised Land) as well!!
I got Promised Land for Xmas – now have both to read. Happy reading!
My book club read A Handmaid’s Tale years ago and I loved it, so I put off watching the show on Hulu when it came out. I recently started the show and it’s great! But I don’t know if I’d feel that way if I had recently read the book. So, even though I’d love to read The Testaments, I’m afraid it’ll ruin the television show. All this to say, you MUST read that book. It’s amazing.
Thanks Cheri for the recommendation. I’ve watched the show and loved it. Disturbed by it for sure, but such a great series.
