It’s time once again for Kathryn’s weekly meme, “It’s Monday! What are You Reading?” at Book Date, where we share what we’re reading and have read over the past week.
What I Read Last Week
I read 7 books – 2 contemporary romances, a book with magical realism, a mg fantasy, a non-fiction, an historical fiction and an historical romance.
Don’t Over Think It by Anne Bogel (for a book study). I found this such an informative book. Although the theme was on overthinking, it really focused on how to live life to the fullest and that our thoughts really do determine how we live.
The Wright Sister by Patty Dann. What an intriguing book – to imagine the married life of Katharine Wright, sister of Orville and Will Wright, through letters to Orville and her diary. Imagine never speaking to your brother just because you married.
Vanessa Yu’s Magical Paris Teashop by Roselle Lim. I so enjoyed this novel, with its touch of magical realism.
Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas. Really enjoyed this historical romance, first in her Gamblers of Craven series.
Just a Heartbeat Away by Cara Baston. How do we overcome grief and find love again? A well written novel with insight into how grief changes us. A new author I am going to follow.
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi. A fun middle grade fantasy – needed for a challenge – but I did enjoy it.
Loving Trouble by Becke Turner. A sweet romance novella, involving an older couple.
What I’m Reading Now
Merry Misrule by Ellie St. Clair
The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman (a reread for a writing course)
What’s Up Next
Can’t Help Falling by Cara Bastone
If I Knew Then by Jann Arden
