Looking Back/ Looking Forward
In late December, I posted my Winter intentions and OLW (JOY), You can check it here. I also posted my December Reading Round-up with the summary of my reading challenges (check here).
I am participating once again in the Bookish Resolutions Challenge, hosted once again by Michelle at Because Reading is Better Than Real Life. (check here)
I want to set goals for my reading and writing this year and this challenge makes me accountable. I was not as successful as I wanted to be in my writing goals but I met many of my reading goals for 2021.
Here are my goals for 2022.
Reading Goals
*Read 250 books over all, as posted at Goodreads. (I met my goal of 350 books in 2021, but I am determined to write more this year and so am putting less pressure on myself to read a book a day – even tho I read a lot of children’s books)
* Read at least 50 books that I already own.
*Read diversely – genres, diversity, kinds of books.
*Complete 10 reading challenges this year (I met this goal last year).
Writing Goals
*Write daily. (I’m not setting a word count – just want to write as much as I can)
*Take part in writing challenges (Like Storystorm in January)
*Enter at least 1 writing competition.
*Complete at least one writing course.
Reading Challenges
Since one of my goals is to complete 10 reading challenges, here are the 10 (with links) I plan to participate in. I find these challenges push me to go out of my comfort zone and read more widely. For me, the fun is in the search – especially if I can find a book that meets criteria from several challenges.
Goodreads Reading Challenge. I plan to read 250 books this year.
Popsugar Reading Challenge. This is my favourite challenge – 50 books for the year. I didn’t complete the challenge this year – I was short 3 books.
52 Books in 52 Weeks. Another enjoyable challenge.
Children’s Books Reading Challenge – for Children

All the best with these goals Bev.
