It’s Monday! What are You Reading?

It’s time once again for Kathryn’s weekly meme, It’s Monday! What are You Reading?,  hosted at Book Date, where we share what we’re reading and have read over the past week.

My hubby is still in hospital but today was his best day yet. Looks like the surgery has helped. Still not out of bed, but no temperatures, and is awake most of the time. Home this week??? (or possibly to rehab.)

What I Read Last Week

I read 7 books – 1 romance, 2 historical romances, 2 women’s fiction, a YA and a magical-realism mystery.

The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd. This magical-realism mystery drew me and kept me guessing. Loved it.

The Boardwalk Bookshop by Susan Mallery. Another enjoyable read by Mallery.

2 books by Mary Balogh, in a new series, both histroical romances I really enjoyed

The Proposal The Arrangement

Light the Stars by RaeAnne Thayne. Another lovely romance by Thayne.

The Widow Waltz by Sally Koslow. An enjoyable woman’s fiction by a new to me author.

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I really enjoyed this YA romance. Will have to watch the movie now.

What I’m Reading Now

The No-Show by Beth O’Leary

Phosphorescence by Julia Baird ( a NF slow-read)

What I am Reading Next

Heir to the Shadows by Anne Bishop

  1. Hope your husband makes it home this week, if that’s what’s best for him. Glad to hear he’s making progress anyway! Steps in the right direction are always good.
I finished Liane Moriarty’s “Apples Never Fall” this week. It was very good!

  2. Well that’s great and hopefully the op has got to the root of that infection. Oh my, imagine eventually no more hospital! Lots of great books read, I see a few I need to check up on and put in my list.

  3. Glad to hear that your husband is doing better. I have The Cartographers on my Kindle but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
