Top Ten Tuesday – My Fall Reading List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly linkup of book bloggers hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week, the topic is “My Fall TBR Books

This is one of my favourite topics as it forces me to go over books, I plan to read in the next 3 months. As I checked back on them past seasons’ reading lists, I found that I hadn’t posted a summer list. I was recovering from knee replacement surgery and then my hubby was sick and then hospitalized.

Fall is my favourite time of year and I hope to read all the books on my list. Some are on hold at the library, some are on my TBR shelves. Several have been on my seasonal lists for awhile. But there are many others I hope to read as well.

It’s Monday! What are You Reading?

It’s time once again for Kathryn’s weekly meme, It’s Monday! What are You Reading?,   hosted at Book Date, where we share what we’re reading and have read over the past week.

My hubby is now home and we are adjusting to new routines. He starts physio at home tomorrow and hopefully he will continue to strengthen his muscles and walk better.

What I Read Last Week

I read 6 books – 1 fantasy, 3 women’s fiction, a romance and an historical romance I am actually able to rad more now that hubby is home – no spending hours in the hospital and traveling.

Storm Echo by Nalini Singh. I have been waiting for this latest fantasy by Singh for months and I finally got it from the library. Loved the book, the characters, the stroyline.

Christmas by the Book by Anne Marie Ryan. So enjoyed this novel – a great recommendation.

Mr. Perfect on Paper by Jean Meltzer. This was a fun romantic read.

Someone Perfect by Mary Balogh. This latest historical fiction by Balogh was another great read by her.

The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. This novel was an okay read as there were parts of it that bothered me.

The Best is Yet to Come by Debbie Macomber. I enjoyed her latest novel – how can you go wrong with a rescued dog?

What I’m Reading Now

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

Phosphorescence by Julia Baird ( a NF slow-read)

It’s Monday! What are You Reading?

It’s time once again for Kathryn’s weekly meme It’s Monday! What are You Reading?,  hosted at Book Date, where we share what we’re reading and have read over the past week.

My hubby will be home Sept. 13 – in 2 sleeps!. No more long visits to the hospital, maybe a bit more reading time. After over 2 months away, it will be good to have hime home – but some adjustments probably will be needed.

What I Read Last Week

I read 5 books – 2 fantasies, a mystery-thriller and 2 picture books.

The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman. Book 2 in his series and I thoroughly got caught up in the mystery, the characters and just the fun of the book. And I didn’t guess the ending. Have to wait for the third tho.

Started a new fantasy series by Nora Roberts and read the first 2 books. The third isn’t out til Nov. (ugh) and I am way down on the library reserve list (another ugh). A great series- loved the world and characters she created.

The Awakening

The Becoming

Read 2 picture books and enjoyed both

Flash and Gleam by Sue Fliess, illus by Khoa Le

The Witchling’s Wish by Lu Fraser illus. by Sarah Massini

Christmas by the Book by Anne Marie Ryan

Phosphorescence by Julia Baird ( a NF slow-read)
