It’s Monday! What are You Reading?

It’s time once again for Kathryn’s weekly meme It’s Monday! What are You Reading?,  hosted at Book Date, where we share what we’re reading and have read over the past week.

My hubby will be home Sept. 13 – in 2 sleeps!. No more long visits to the hospital, maybe a bit more reading time. After over 2 months away, it will be good to have hime home – but some adjustments probably will be needed.

What I Read Last Week

I read 5 books – 2 fantasies, a mystery-thriller and 2 picture books.

The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman. Book 2 in his series and I thoroughly got caught up in the mystery, the characters and just the fun of the book. And I didn’t guess the ending. Have to wait for the third tho.

Started a new fantasy series by Nora Roberts and read the first 2 books. The third isn’t out til Nov. (ugh) and I am way down on the library reserve list (another ugh). A great series- loved the world and characters she created.

The Awakening

The Becoming

Read 2 picture books and enjoyed both

Flash and Gleam by Sue Fliess, illus by Khoa Le

The Witchling’s Wish by Lu Fraser illus. by Sarah Massini

What I’m Reading Now

Christmas by the Book by Anne Marie Ryan

Phosphorescence by Julia Baird ( a NF slow-read)

What I am Reading Next

Storm Echo by Nalini Singh

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

  1. While I usually enjoy Nora Roberts, her fantasies aren’t my favorites. I’ll probably buy the third and read all three in a binge reading frenzy. I recall enjoying the first, but couldn’t get into the second after a long hiatus. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  2. Isn’t that Nora Roberts trilogy so good, Not too long before the third for sure, but library lists!! Hope all goes well for hubby’s return, fingers crossed for everything.

  3. I thought The Man Who Died Twice was even better than the first in this series. I can hardly wait for Osman’s next book, The Bullet That Missed. It’s supposed to be released on the 15th of this month!
