Today is Day 29 of the March Slice of Life – the daily writing challenge hosted at “ Two Writing Teachers”
It is hard to believe that we are almost at an end of the March Slice of Life challenge. I have posted a slice everyday. Some days the inspiration wasn’t there and then I read another slicer’s post and I was inspired by something they had shared.
Today’s slice was inspired by Barbara, who created a Slice of Life acrostic. I used acrostics often in my classroom to spark poems in my students. They loved this form, as do I.
Here is my take on “Slice of Life”
S – Slice of Life this March is almost at an end
L – Let’s remember all we’ve done and what we’ve learned
I – I have definitely enjoyed this challenge,
C – Celebrating all the personal stories shared
E – Everyone has them; we need to share them and learn from them
O – One slice a day, 31 in all.
F – For one month, we have stretched our writing muscles,
L – Letting others learn about us in the process
I – I know I have learned so much – about myself and about others
F – For when we share our stories, we are one
E – Ever more – united; a community of story-tellers, writers; forever changed.
I like how you shared how we are all stretching our writing muscles-21 days makes a habit, so perhaps I can apply this now to yoga stretching ? I’m going to keep slicing though, are you?
For sure Fran. I’ve been doing the Tuesday slice for a while, fairly regularly. Good luck with your yoga!
Imitation is the best form of flattery! I am glad you liked my acrostic and have added your own. I think we are all feeling nostalgic about saying goodbye for now,

I really enjoyed yours Barbara – so thanks for the inspiration. I will be sorry to see the end for sure. At least there are Tuesedays!
Great synthesizing slice. I most especially love the line, “a community of story-tellers, writers; forever changed.” See you on Tuesdays.
You will for sure Deb. Thanks!
I like how this flowed. You did a nice job of making it feel like a conversation and not an acrostic. I will be slicing on Tuesdays as well. I keep thinking I want to keep writing every day and I will (I hope) but I think the comments and community is what keeps me coming back. So I will commit to Tuesdays.
It definitely is the community Kim. I’ll be stopping by Tuesdays for
It’s so lovely, Beverley, as if you’re talking directly to us. I like the idea of the storyteller community-lots of stories in this month!
Several slicers talked about the power of story and that we all are more than one story. So much inspiration!
Sharing and learning from every slice is a key element of this community. You have created a wonderful acrostic that synthesizes it well.
Thanks Elsie. This round, this year seemed special. Maybe because I was able to reach out more.
Beautiful. I, too, like how it told a story of growing and changing. Each of us can relate and feel part of a whole.
Definitely – we all have been part of a wonderful community.
I celebrate this:a community of story-tellers, writers; forever changed. And I look forward to seeing you on Tuesdays!
Thanks Tara. I’ll be stopping by Tuesdays as well
My favorite line “when we share our stories we are one.” I think the best part of Slice of Life is the interaction and connecting we do with other slicers. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂
Thanks Crystal!
Your acrostic perfectly captured some of my own thoughts about this experience. I do feel as if it has changed me…for the better. I’m so glad I’ve had the chance to read other writers’ stories and share some of my own.
That’s exactly how I felt as well Lori.
