Today is day 10 of the March SOL, the daily writing challenge hosted at “Two Writing Teachers”.
I actually saw our grass this morning. The snow has begun to melt and large snowbanks are slowly retreating.
It has been an intensely cold winter. The weatherman said yesterday that there had been over fifty straight days with temperatures below freezing (0C here in Ontario). Many of those days were -25C – breaking records everywhere.
The spring forward time change actually is a tool used to instil optimism. We see more sun in the evening and we can almost taste spring coming.
Spring plants on our dining room table help as well. The daffodils and crocuses hint at the blooms to come. Bring it on!
I love the fact that the snow is receding. The sunshine warms the heart and soul. The flowers are lovely. Be warm!
It is definitely a joy to feel warmth and sun!
I can’t imagine the snow and cold you endure! Love the daffodil that sings of the coming of spring, especially when we can see it outside.
Thanks Elsie. It has been a heck of a winter.
Nothing like a daffodil to make a girl smile! I wore flip flops here in Missouri today. Maybe you will be able to join me soon. 🙂 I love your last line. You sound like my sons when they like to fight with each other.
No hat and no mitts when I went out today.Yes!
Hooray for grass and daffodils! I saw a bluebird on Saturday, so spring can’t be far behind!
I heard a lot of birds today! and didn’t have to wear a hat or mitts.
