Day 21 – March SOL

Today is Day 21 of the March Slice of Life – the daily writing challenge hosted at “Two Writing Teachers”.
The theme for the photo challenge I am using for inspiration is “Oh no!”

OH NO!
While driving to an art class today, we were once again listening to another on of Stuart McLean’s stories. We had been missing hearing his stories and have been replaying his CDs for a week or so.
It’s hard to believe he has been gone for over a year now. No one tells a story like Stuart. For Christmas we got the last of his stories and it was a mixed blessing – we loved the stories, but knew it would be the last new ones, so it was very sad.
The story “Odd Jobs” came on and when I heard Morley tell Dave she wished she could have the toaster moved, I thought “Oh no!”. This was the perfect fit for the theme for the photo challenge.

Dave, of course, thinks he is able to add a new electric plug and move wires, and so begins a hilarious story of his ever increasing disasters. (Here is a link to the story) And of course we laughed. You can’t help it when Stuart shares his stories. He is a/was a master storyteller. We can listen to every one of his stories – over and over again – and we do.

  1. Oh no! I’d never heard of Stuart McLean, and he’s already gone 😦
Thanks for introducing him; will be sure to look up his stories!
